Pep Guardiola Unveiled at Bayern Munich

Pep Guardiola Unveiled at Bayern Munich

The Former Ctalan boss is holding his first Press Conference as the Head Coach of the Champions League winners BAYERN MUNICH.The legendary Barcelona boss is facing the media for the first time since his summer move to the Allianz Arena was confirmed

New Beggining!

HERE ARE SOME QUOTES FROM THE MUCH HYPED PRESS CONFERENCE.

- Guardiola's first words as Bayern boss: "Good day and God bless you ladies and gentlemen. Forgive me my German."

Guardiola: "I would like to thank Bayern for giving me the opportunity to work here as a coach." Asked why he chose Munich, he said: "Because of the players and the history."

Karl-Heinz Rummnigge: "We really had to convince Pep Guardiola to come here. The philosophy of the club really spoke to him"

Guardiola: "My time at Barcelona was wonderful, but I needed a new challenge."

Guardiola is asked what he can bring to treble winners: "I am ready for the challenge, regardless of whether Bayern are treble winners." He seems confident that he can improve the Bavarians...

Guardiola: "I'm taking over a team who played exceptionally last year. As a Bayern coach, you always have to win."

Rummenigge: "I'm sure we'll have a successful period. At the end of the day, of course we want to win titles. The truest title is the Bundesliga, because good and bad luck play a big role of 34 matches. The best title is the one we celebrated a few weeks ago in London. But the measure of things is the Bundesliga. Bayern are ranked second in the world. Number one is Barcelona, because of Pep."

Guardiola: "The fans come to the Allianz Arena to watch the players play, not to watch me train."

Guardiola hints that he will tweak his system: "Barcelona players have different qualities to those of Bayern. I need to adjust, the system does not."

Guardiola seemed quite fluent while speaking German, which he has recently learnt to improve communication with his players. We wish him him a succesful journey ahead with the Bavarians.
